In today’s blog I want to share with you just how you can decrease running times with the help from Beachbody Insanity program.

 As a Beachbody coach, just a couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of having a table at a local road race representing all of the wonderful items that Beachbody has to offer. It was a cold, windy and rainy day but that didn’t stop the 150 + runners that showed up that day to do what they love. Picture 005

The one thing that really stood out to me that day was how dedicated these people are to what they are doing which was just great to see. I wrote about this topic in a previous blog Weight Loss- How to lose it and keep it off, mindset is SO crucial no matter what your passion is. Whether it’s pumping iron at the gym, biking, running – whatever, if you’re not passionate about what your doing then chances are you won’t be doing it for very long. Bottom line is, find something you like doing and you feel passionate about and that will equate to results! Another thing – don’t be afraid to try something new you never know what you may discover. Such as the gentleman that I spoke to that day discovered. He decided to give something new a try and he had amazing results from it as you’ll read about in his story below.

 Oops I got a little of track with where I was going with my story:) back to my day at the race! I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people that day, one person in particular that I met was very friendly and had a great personal story he wanted to share with me. It had to do with his introduction to Beachbody, the Insanity program to be exact and how doing the program he was able to decrease his running times immensely. Well I won’t go over his story in full I’ll let you read it for yourself. I think you will find it as inspirational as I did. I was glad that he gave me permission to use it as I truly believe that it can help inspire many other people out there that feel like they are in the same shoes (no pun intended).

Hello Kevin,

 I wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting you at the Raynham 5 Miler a couple weeks ago.  At the time, I had mentioned that I had just finished the Insanity Workout program.  I thought I would write a few lines to let you how happy I have been with the improvement the program has been to me with my road racing.

 I am 54 years old and have been running routinely now for the last 10 years.  I run about 25 to 30 races a year.  In between the races, I generally run two to three times a week.  Through the fall of last year, I was running two to three miles every morning in effort to improve my times.  But I seemed to have hit a wall with times not getting any better. 

 A couple weeks before Christmas I saw the Insanity Infomercial on TV and ordered the program.  I figured that all the running I was doing was only working the same muscles and that I needed something else.  The workouts were hard but I could feel myself getting more fit with each week completed.  I did the diet and lost about fifteen pounds over the course of the program. 

 As a result my 5K times are about 2 minutes faster the my times from last year.  This month I also ran two five mile races each setting a personal record times for each event.  Both of those races I beat last year’s times by 6 minutes.  The reason I have been able to improve my times is that I have been able to maintain my pace throughout the race.  I always had a very good first mile but my times would drop off at the splits.  Now I am able to maintain the pace throughout the race. 

 I would recommend Insanity to anyone who really wants to improve their fitness and times.

While I have been mainly concentrating on writing posts about my fitness, nutrition as well as my fitness programs –  just to name a few. I do however want to shift your attention for just a bit and talk about this web site I happily came across just a short time ago. For many people it is certainly worth looking into. The site is called webuildyourblog.

Webuildyourblog.com is one of the better sites that I have come across. I’m not pitching anything for them nor getting paid to promote them (just a friendly link trade). So if you have been in or are thinking about getting into either blogging or getting and setting up a wordpress site of your own you could certainly benefit from what Andrew and Joel have to offer. Whether you’re a newbie just getting started like I am or you already have a good knowledge base and have been blogging and/or using wordpress for some time; you can and will learn a lot from this guide as well as the various posts & videos posted on their site regularly.free ebook final smallv2 150x150 A great wordpress/blogging website to check out!

One item in particular I want to bring to your attention is their free income blogging guide blueprint that they have to offer.

No strings attached; you can receive this report which contains a large number of pages (95 to be exact) packed with great information and also includes various links to training videos. One video in particular which I really enjoyed is a 46 minute word camp seminar hosted by Matt Cutts of the web spam team for Google in which he explains how to get yourself noticed by Google (and who doesn’t want this?), this alone is worth the price of admission:)  

In this free guide they talk briefly about how and why they got started blogging and the importance of having your “niche” as well as making money blogging online. Then they get right into the meat of things such as blogging platforms, keyword analysis, getting a domain, hosting. Oh and they even go through setting up your own wordpress – step by step with multiple screen shots which makes it really nice especially if your new to this sort of thing. The list goes on and on but hey I’m not going to retype the whole report here, go get your own!

Hey everyone,

Just want to update you with where I’m at with Beachbody’s RevABS program; I have just reached the halfway mark!

For those of you that are not familiar with this program it is broken up into two phases, each phase lasting 45 days for a total of 90 days for the program. Up until this point I have really enjoyed the workouts as a whole. The length of the workouts are a bit shorter than the workouts in say P90X or Insanity but don’t let the length of the workouts fool you. If you give these workouts your 100% effort you’ll be dripping with sweat at the end of each workout!! These workouts are no joke.

 Having completed a round of P90X last year, in comparison I have not seen the crazy numbers that I had while doing the p90x program but I truly wasn’t really expecting those kind of numbers anyways. You just can’t compare the two programs, each one has its own unique workouts styles and result expectations.

My diet has been ok for the first 45 days, had a couple days where I seemed to have little self control of what I was eating for a few meals. Other than that I feel I’ve been pretty consistant with my eating, I am basically following a few of the guidelines from the p90x program and I have incorporated them into this program. I really like the way the food plan is setup in P90X as compared to RevABS.

Here are my numbers so far, like I said nothing that will blow you away but I do feel I’ve made some progress since I started this program. I really do enjoy the workouts, Brett (”the dues collector”) really makes them fun.

Start of RevABS             After 45 Days

Fat %               = 12.4              11.5

Water              = 61.8              62.6

Muscle Mass = 69.4              68.7

Weight             = 164.6           160.2

I’ll have to post some pics of my progress along the way.                                             

Bottom line – I think after I complete the RevABS program I will go back to P90X for another round. That program in my opinion is that good! But like anything else variety is the key to keeping it fresh and exciting that’s why programs like revabs is so good, it’s different it’s puts a different spin on things help keeping it fresh. Once it becomes a bore chances are you won’t be doing it for very long, so don’t be afraid to mix it up and have fun!

Yes!! I’m extremely excited. I have just received my Emerald level certificate from Beachbody in the mail today. This was a huge step for me yet this is just the begining. I truly enjoy working from home with what I’m currently doing with Beachbody, it is truly fun for me so I don’t even consider it work:)

Once reaching the Emerald level coach, Beachbody actually gives you their customers to work with to help keep them motivated, focused and accountable to their fitness programs to help them reach their ultimate goal. I’m working hard with my customers to help them reach their own individual goals as well I continue to work to reach my goal – to continue building my team of successful Beachbody coaches. It’s just a matter of time:) Takes work patience & perseverance.
