Ah yes, some good ole MMA training just to help keep things fun. Yes I’m still going strong with my Beachbody RevABS program but I plan on doing some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training once a month just for fun.
I use to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a number of years back, nothing serious I thought it would be a fun and different kind of workout and yes that’s exactly what I got, all of those things – talk about a workout wow! It’s pretty amazing to me to think of all these fighters that train full time to do this I tip my hat to them, talk about commitment as well as the phenomenal shape they must keep your body in. This brings me as to why I am writing this post today.
While surfing around the net this morning I happened to checked out this site that I regularly frequent on occasion to see what’s new and wanted to bring it to your attention for good reason. Like I’ve said numerous times before, I truly believe that mixing up your workouts is one of the key ingredients to getting the results your looking for. If you’re currently doing a Beachbody program like RevABS or any other fitness program for that matter - that’s great! Don’t stop and keep going but there’s no law saying you can’t throw something else in the mix here and there to help keep it interesting and fun.
The web site that I really like is called meetup.com., and no it’s not a dating site! Before you run off to check this site out let me just fill you in a little bit as to why I think this site is so good and how you could benefit. This site is great because it gives you the opportunity to see what groups are already formed and are active in and around the area where you live. There are so many different groups to choose from but I just want to focus mainly on some of the many fitness groups available. There are running groups, walking groups, biking groups, hiking and the list just goes on and on. The one I just joined this weekend is an MMA training group which gets together once a month for a free workout at their facility – with no strings attached. What a great way to get in a different workout and it’s free! That’s one of the nice things about these groups, some are free but some are not so do some looking around and see what’s available where you live and see if there is something that interests you.
Why not take advantage of some of these free workout groups, meet some new people and maybe try something different than the your norm and most of all make fitness fun so it doesn’t seem like such a chore to burn those calories:) With the weather starting to turn nice now we can take advantage of the many things we can now do outdoors comfortably.
Well I hope this helps you on your fitness journey and let me know if you try one of these groups. I will certainly update you on how mine goes as I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been awhile since I’ve been put in a choke hold or arm-bar:)
